Magoo's Finish Their Undeated Business

With the Senior Swans winning though to the Grand Final on Friday Night the Swans Reserves put the finishing touches to their undeated season in the ACTAFL by winning their Grand Final against Belconnen at Manuka Oval by 17 points. In winning their first premiership in their so far 3 year stay in this league the Swans added their 3rd major piece of silverwear since moving to Sydney (82 Night Comp, 96 Minor Premiers and now this), now the Swans hope the senior add the fourth come Saturday and the most important one of all. Best on Ground and winner of the Alex Jesaulenko Medal was Nick Malceski, who would of done his chances of a senior call up for Saturday a world of good. Anyway, as stated hopefully this is the start of a week all us Swans fans have been long waiting for

Sydney Swans Reserves: 12.8-80
Belconnen Magpies: 8.15-63

Goals: Moore 4 Malceski 3 Schmidt, Campbell 2 Grundy, Potter 1

Best Players: Malceski, Grundy, Campbell, Sunqvist, Moore, Willoughby.

Magoo Update

We won yet again and very well at that (no surprises there) but the focus this week was the form of two players in Stuart Maxfield and Andrew Schauble.

From all reports Schaubs played well and went close to BOG, the match report on the Swans Official Site, stated that he stated the match at CHB and went forward in the second half to kick a bag of 6 goals. I think he might be putting pressure on Vogel for a spot in the seniors for the rest of the season in that case (not that Vogels has done anything wrong).

As for Maxfield, well he played the entire match but according to those who watched the match he certainly isn't close to being ready for a game of senior AFL football, let alone a senior AFL final. Time will tell with him I guess. Other to have good matches included Grundy (who should be added to the senior list next season), McVeigh and Moore. So going into the finals the seniors look to have in-form back-ups for every position except for maybe a certain B.Hall.

Anyway here are the scores and goalkickers:

Swans Reserves 30.13 (193)
Queanbeyan Tigers 5.4 (34)

Goals: Grundy, Schauble 6 McVeigh, Spriggs, Saddington, Bevan 3 Powell, Schmidt, Malceski 2

Magoos in Big Win Shocker

Just shocking that the Magoos could get away with such a big win (again). Still it seems as though the form of Malceski, Schmidt and Sundqvist tonight was hearting, as was the effort from Schauble who should really be brought into the side for next week to quell Neitz.

Anyway here are the detail's from tonights match

Swans 26.15 (171)
Queanbeyan 5.10 (40)

Goals: Schneider 5 Malceski 4 Saddington, Bevan, Sundqvist 3 Vogels, James, Schmidt 2 Potter, Schauble 1.

Magoo BOG: From all reports Malceski played one of the best matches seen by some RWO regular Magoo watchers, with 40 plus touches and 4 goals. He'll be pushing for senior selection this week as well it seems.

The Magoos do it again...like it surprises anyone anymore

This is getting so easy why don't we just play half the team one half and the other half in the second half?? Lets make these games more interesting and less one sided.

Oh well we one again, this against Balconnen who I believe won the Canberra League Premiership last season.

Anyway here are the scores

Sydney 21.7 (133)
Belconnen 11.9 (75)

Best Swan/s on Ground: James and Fosdike

Just like the Seniors.......

The Magoos didn't play this weekend thanks to a bye in the Canberra League, so there is nothing to report in that area, until they play next weekend.

Magoos Win Again

Starting to become a joke when you put the 2nd placed side away like this. Still at least it looks like we'll have a premiership cup heading to Sydney this year one way or the other.

SYDNEY SWANS 18.9-117
AINSLIE KANGAROOS 9.15-69

Goals: Nicks 4 James, Schmidt, Schneider, Powell 3 Clarke, Grundy 1

Best: Willoughby, Nicks, Fosdike, Schmidt, Hayes, Schneider

Same Old Story - Reserves win by A LOT

Yet another easy win for the Magoos and we remain un-beaten in the Canberra League this season. Good games from Malceski and Schneider should put them in the frame for senior selection in the coming weeks. Schauble had a good game and hopefully will replace LRT next week.

Sydney Swans Reserves: 23.10-148
vs
Tuggeranong Hawks: 10.7-67

Goals: Schneider 6 Powell, Malceski 4 Grundy, Erickson 2 Ball, Potter, Quade, Schauble, Spriggs 1

Best Players: Malceski, Powell, Erikson, M.Davis, Schneider, Potter.

Little Swans do it easy yet again

The Swans Reserves had another win this time over Paul Kelly's old team the Wagga Tigers. Not much to go on but, McVeigh kicking 8 goals mean he must be close to playing this week and the normal players, playing well. Nicks and Schneider did well upon their demotion down to the reserves and (sadly) should be in the seniors within weeks. Can't read much into these results thanks to the weak nature of teams like Wagga, but also good to see solid form coming from the players who are deemed close to senior selection

Swans Reserves - 30.15(195)
Wagga Tigers - 4.3(27)

Goals: McVeigh 8 Grundy 4 Schneider, Malceski, Shaw 3 Ericksen, Potter 2 McConnochie, Schmidt, Powell, Nicks, Willoughby 1

Best: McVeigh, Malceski, Nicks, Schneider, Quade, Ericksen.

Yet again Little Swans prove a better bet than Big Swans

Yep the Magoos won yet again and again the best players on the field were the one I have been called of for to be given senior action.

Sydney Swans 15.21.111
Queanbeyan Tigers 14.11.95

Goals: Vogels 4, Moore 3, Grundy, Posch 2, Clarke, Saddington, Schmidt, Shaw 1

Best: Vogels, Erikson, Moore, Campbell, Potter, Willoughby

Surely its time for Saddo, Willoughby Moore and Malceski to be given the spots in the senior team taken up by Bevan, Nicks, Schneider and Buchanan.

Alas I doubt that will ever happen and certainly not this week. Still good on the Magoos for giving us Swans fans something to look forward to.

Little Swans out do Big Swans YET again

Swans Reserves: 21-7-133
Eastlake: 7-6-48

Well the Swans Reserves won yet again, but this time the match was much closer (sic). Still good signs from the likes of Grundy, Malceski, Moore and Willoughby, plus Schauble played a full match again and SHOULD be back in the seniors from the trip West.

At least the Little Swans can win

Goals: Grundy 8 Clarke, Vogels 3 Schauble, Moore 2 Willoughby, Eriksson, Shaw 1

Reserves Win

Seems as though the magoos did what the seniors couldn't do and win. Saddington and Schauble got though the match pretty well and look like they will come into the senior next weekend. Hard to get worked up over a win like that(even I could get a kick for Weston Creek). McVeigh should get a recall and Vogel, Campbell and Grundy could all get a call up from the rookie list this week if needed. Downside (if you could call it that) from the match was that Fosdike has broken his leg and will miss between 4-6 weeks.

Sydney Swans: 34.22.226
Weston Creek Lions: 2.3.15

Goals - Grundy 7, McVeigh 6, Schneider 5, Schmidt 3, Vogels, Clarke, Willoughby, Schauble 2, Moore, Potter 1.

Likely Callup - McVeigh, Schauble, Saddington and Willoughby - Take your pick.
