Player Retirements
As every season finishes so to does the careers of many players who finally admit defeat to the stresses of their body's and this year is no different for the Swans who have so far seen 5 players call it quits. As sad as it is, such retirements allow this list to grow even further (who would of thought the Swans would bearly feel the effects of the retirements of Kelly, Dunkley and Cresswell) and with this year retirements already at 5 it means the Swans are in a position that they don't have to trade or delist anyone they want to keep.
So far I've brought up the retirements of Matthew Nicks and Jason Ball on this site, but in the days since the Swans win in the Grand Final a week ago we have seen Heath James, Andrew Schauble and Stuart Maxfield also call it a day due to injury. It's always hard to say goodbye to players who have done so much for a club from being the club captain, winning Best and Fairest awards to playing key roles in a our first premiership win in 72 years.
To those who have retired, thank you and best of luck.
